Monday morning, an 18 wheeler crashed on Highway 95 near Council. According to local news reports, the truck was hauling 23,000 pounds of smokeless gunpowder at the time of the wreck. Tthe crash happened at about 8:50 a.m., between Fruitvale Glendale Road and East Fork Road. That is about seven miles north of Council. Reportedly, the semi truck was going around a corner when part of the trailer left the roadway. The vehicle tipped over and came to rest at an angle in the borrow pit beside the highway.
