In the past, insurance companies were fond of saying that there simply wasn’t enough damage to the vehicles to believe there were any personal injuries. Clients would tell me, “Yeah, not much damage to my car . . . but the bad guy’s car was a wreck.” Absent a lawsuit, photos of the damage to the at-fault vehicle were seldom to be found. Back then, few people carred a camera in their car in the event they were in a wreck. Nowadays, we almost all have cell phones. If you are in a wreck or come to a scene for a friend or family member who has been in a wreck, take a few minutes with your cell phone camera to document the scene. These photos can prove priceless in helping to remind the insurer of the damages from and forces in a collision.
In a wreck? Pictures can help tell your story.
